MEDIEVAL FAIR & MEDIEVAL ARCHERY TOURNAMENT


10am Cannon Display & Archers Muster

COMMENCEMENT OF TOURNAMENT which takes place throughout the day and includes:

  • SPLITTING THE WAND
  • THE KNIGHT - a moving target
  • SHOOTING THE KING'S DEER AND BOAR
  • POPINJAY (to simulate shooting birds from a tree, four wooden birds are hoisted up a pole and shot from below with rubber blunts)
  • SPEED SHOOT (as many as possible in one minute)
  • PURSE SHOOT (shooting at purses containing various amounts)

    EVENT TIMES WILL BE DISPLAYED ON THE SALTS. INFORMATION & LOST AND FOUND AT THE CASTLE ON THE SITE.

    ST. MARY'S CHURCH: Saturday Evening Concert - 6:30pm Capriole and the Company of Strangers Medieval Music and Dance.

    A Windsor round will be shot for the prizes of:

    FIRST LORD - A SWORD
    FIRST SQUIRE - AN ARROW
    FIRST LADY - A DAGGER
    FIRST MAID - AN ARROW
    BEST OVER ALL - A COPY OF A MARY ROSE WAR ARROW WITH SOLID GOLD HEAD
    SECOND BEST - A COPY OF A MARY ROSE WAR ARROW WITH SOLID SILVER HEAD
